why i started this blog
2 min read
I've been wanting to start a writing practice again, something I publish publicly. I already write something short daily in my private journal, but knowing no one else will read those entries makes my writing lazy and uninspired. It's become just another to-do, rather than a tool to help sharpen my thoughts and connect ideas. And while I don't think anyone will read this blog either, the possibility that someone might is enough to make me want to write something of higher quality.
I'm not certain about the theme of this blog yet, but I'm thinking something along the lines of pondering why I do the things I do. The rationale?
- I'm currently consuming way more content than I'm creating, and that balance feels off.
- I want to be more conscious about what I'm consuming. Writing will force me to pause and think about what I'm ingesting, both good and bad. And going one level deeper - question why I wanted to consume that bit of content in the first place.
- Writing will help me rebalance my time toward content creation. I need to fight back against the muscle atrophy happening here.
